Case Study: Massachusetts Pure Spring Water
A Massachusetts bottler of pure spring water consumed thirty-three thousand dollars worth of electricity per year. Pope Energy designed, procured and constructed a 229 kWdc solar PV system comprised of 792 Canadian Solar panels comprised of 72 strings of 11 solar panels. Inverters used on the project were SMA Sunny Boy 8000US string inverters. Because the solar system was placed on the sloping less productive land of an existing farm, Terrafix brand terrain-following racking system was used. The behind-the-meter solar installation provided electricity to effectively bring the electrical consumption of the pure water bottler to net zero, saving both electricity generation and distribution cost all the while delivering a natural and fully renewable pure spring water bottled product to customers.
